Yes, this year the beaches of Nerja will have functional showers, making them the only ones in the Axarquía region to offer this service during the summer of 2025.
While nearby municipalities like Vélez-Málaga, Rincón de la Victoria, Torrox, and Algarrobo have decided to limit water usage on their beaches by only providing foot showers as a water-saving measure, Nerja has opted to keep all its showers operational.
The Nerja Town Hall has confirmed that the showers will be operational starting June 15, coinciding with the beginning of the high season. Additionally, some showers adapted for people with reduced mobility have already been in use since last Easter.
This decision is based on the availability of local water resources in the municipality, which allows for maintaining the service without compromising responsible water consumption. Therefore, visitors can enjoy the showers on Nerja’s beaches during their stay this summer.
